IPM Motors
Arrow Speed has acheived another first in improving Sawmill performance - we've applied IPM (Internal Permanent Magnet) AC motors to Canter machines to acheive improved stopping distances and reduce gap !
IPM motors are similar to regular induction motors except the rotor has rare earth magnets embedded in it instead of rotor bars. This results in a very small diameter rotor with extremely low inertia. This increases the performance of the machine and allows a decreased gap.
