Arrow Speed Controls is the leading Variable Frequency Drive (VFD) integrator in North America. Our leadership in the speed control industry extends over 25 years and we have well over 20,000 successful system installations. We specialize in heavy industries with an emphasis on forestry, pulp & paper, mining and petrochemical.

Arrow Speed Controls is a complete VFD systems integrator with design, manufacturing, start-up and service capabilities. Our staff have over 100 years of speed control experience between them and can design a complete system from a simple fan application to a complete sawmill with multiple drives networked together. Our vast experience with variable frequency drive applications allows us to guarantee that our systems will work properly in any application.

In addition to VFDs we also have extensive experience with Soft Starts, Dynamic Brakes, DC Motors and Controls and Servo applications. We also specialize in PLC control systems and can design a control system from a simple level control to a complete mill.

Our manufacturing shop is fully CSA and UL approved and has sixteen full-time manufacturing personnel.

Arrow Speed Controls understands that after sales service and support is vital to the success of our customers’ business so we have assembled a team of several factory trained service technicians who are available 24 hours a day. These technicians perform start-ups and field service for our products across North America. We also have a full-time board level repair technician who can service the products we sell.

Electrical Drafter

This position is responsible for revising existing drawings and preparing drawings of control panels from explicit verbal or written instructions or detailed sketches. Position successfully plots drawings; learns and follows company and client drafting standards and procedures; learns the practices of electrical industrial control. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications – Experienced – Posting number QD6742

  • Course work in drafting technology or specialized CAD certification.
  • Associate’s degree in computer aided drafting and design desirable.
  • Five years of professional drafting experience.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Excellent written & verbal communication skills.
  • Previous internship and/or related consulting experience preferred.
  • Fluent abilities in AutoCAD, Word, Exel, Outlook

Sales Engineer

Arrow Speed Controls is searching for a Sales Engineer to join their growing team of professionals. Operating since 1978 Arrow Speed has become the industry leader in Electric Speed Control Systems, Variable Frequency Drives, Electrical Controls, PLCs, HMIs, AC Servos, and Solid State Starters. With 100 employees and two manufacturing facilities in Canada we are preparing for continued growth.

The candidate for this position will be responsible for new customer development, existing customer support and technical support. Necessary will be the ability to operate independently in a technically challenging environment, providing value to customers and managing multiple complex sales and support situations. Confidence and composure under high pressure situations will be a requirement in this fast paced industrial arena. Ability to converse with engineers, electrical personnel and business owners will be a requirement. A sound mechanical aptitude will be an asset. Travel throughout BC may also be required.

The job opportunity will pay a competitive base salary plus a commission, vehicle allowance and benefits, based on experience. Preference will be given to a candidate possessing experience in the field but consideration may be given to the right recent graduate of Electrical Engineering or Engineering  Technology programs.
